Enjoy the big and bold flavor of beef your next trip out! This easy recipe has very little prep work required at home and has a tangy flavor of BBQ sauce with the crunch of cabbage. Cabbage is one of those veggies that actually packs well, handling the travel in a backpack with ease.
Beef BBQ Wrap Recipe
1/2 cup freeze dried beef
1/4 tsp dehydrated onion
1/4-1/2 tsp tomato powder
2 packets BBQ sauce
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 tortilla or 2 flour taco shells
At home, place the freeze dried beef in a freezer bag with the onion. Since you will be draining the beef after it soaks, it is best to put the tomato powder in a separate snack bag. The cabbage can be stored in a sandwich bag.
In camp, add 1 cup hot water to the beef while it is in the FBC cozy. Let sit for about 5 minutes. Drain the water off and squeeze some of the excess out. You don’t want it completely dry. Add tomato powder and knead well. Add to tortilla shell. Drizzle BBQ sauce over beef. Add cabbage and enjoy!
